Summary

A ditched bowl barrow located on Worgret Hill, forming part of the Worgret Heath Group. In 1970 this monument was reported as being around 65 feet in diameter, with a mound about 8½ feet high.

Full Description

'B' Diameter 19.0 metres; height 2.6 metres. No trace of berm or ditch. There is a slight depression in the top of the mound which
is tree and bracken covered. Probably a bowl barrow. <3>

'B' SY 90538709. Ditched bowl barrow 330 yards ENE of 'A' on the summit of a ridge, Diameter 65 feet, height 8 1/2 feet. Top
flattened and slightly hollowed ditch recently widened. Fir-covered. <5>

Ditched bowl barrow, forming part of the Worgret Heath Group. Its diameter is 65 ft, height 8.5 ft. Its top is flattened and slightly hollowed. Its ditch was observed to have been recently widened and it is fir-covered.

'Nineteen barrows are scattered irregularly over the parish, all on Tertiary Beds and mostly in heathland. Six, together with three now in Wareham Lady St. Mary, form a group (B) on Worgret Heath, while (42–44) lie very close together on Middlebere Heath. Many are damaged and one (LVG 12), has been destroyed. … (31) Ditched bowl (90538709) 330 yds. E.N.E. of (30) on summit of ridge. Diam. 65 ft., ht. 8½ ft. Top flattened and slightly hollowed. Ditch recently widened. Fir-covered.'
