Monument record MDO6996 - Bowl Barrow on Affpuddle Heath, Affpuddle

A bowl barrow situated on a ridge overlooking the Frome Valley to the south. The barrow has a mound composed of earth, sand and turf. In 1970 this monument was reported as being 30 feet in diameter and 1.5 feet in height, with half of it destroyed.

Surveyed at SY 79969226 this barrow has a diameter of 12.0m and a height of 1.1m. It has no ditch. A small part of the barrow has been removed in the north by the passage of vehicles in an east-west direction. There were no surface finds. A heather covered bowl barrow. (Rigg 1952)
