Full Description

<1> Harding, P, 1994, Dairy Unit, Knighton Farm, Canford Magna, Dorset: Archaeological Evaluation (Unpublished document). SDO14223.

‘The report presents the results of an archaeological evaluation carried out by Wessex Archaeology at Knighton Farm, Kingston Magna in August 1994.
Twenty-two machine-cut trenches were excavated, comprising a c4% sample of the proposed development area. A small pit and an ill-defined linear feature were discovered, both of which appear to be anthropogenic. Small amounts of pottery recovered during investigation of these features could not be closely dated, and a broad potential date range (earlier prehistoric-Roman) is given. The depth of overburden within the site was expected to substantively protect any other remains present from the proposed development impacts.’
