Full Description
A lime kiln recorded as ‘old limekiln’ on the second edition (1900-2) Ordnance Survey map. The date of this kiln is not known but it is most likely to be late nineteenth century. The site was visited in 1992-93 by Peter Stanier, who recorded that almost all (80-90%) of the kiln survived in fair condition. He described the draw arch as being round and built of brick [1]. The site was identified on aerial photographs during the Upper Frome and Sydling Valley AIM project [2].
