Summary

A heather-covered mound which appears to be a bowl barrow with no visible ditch, with a diameter of 8.5 m and height of 0.6 m was recorded by the Ordnance Survey Archaeology Division in 1955. It was confirmed as a bowl barrow in 1956. The barrow was still extant in 1973 but now lies beneath Corfe Hills School.

Full Description

SY 99639659. A heather-covered mound which appears to be a bowl barrow with no visible ditch. The mound has a diameter of 8.5 m and is 0.6 m high. <1>

There can be no reasonable doubt that this is a bowl barrow. <2>

This barrow is as described in 1955. Surveyed at 1:2500. <3>
