Fragments of an Iron Age or Roman coaxial field system are visible as earthworks on lidar imagery on the west facing slopes overlooking the River Frome to the south of Cattistock <3>. The field boundary extend over 35hectares and were digitally plotted during the Upper Frome and Sydling Valleys AIM project.

Centred at SY 59859920. An IA/RB type field system
A. SY60059948. Grass covered, contour following lynchets up to 0.7m high
B. SY59659933. Vague lynchets visible in plough & grassland
C. SY59959920. No trace in field under crops
D. SY 59709922 Strong lynchets & field banks up to 2.5m high forming rectilinear enclosures on steep southern slope of hill. Under pasture.
E. SY59859900. Similar to D but much less pronounced
F. SY59739865. Low vague contour following lynchets
