Full Description

Windmill Field. It is here that the Gallows were situated. <1>

Some 40 years ago H.P. Smith Esq., F.S.A. was shown the stump remains of the Gallows at SZ 02309037. The last public hanging took place about 1759; gallows have stood on this site since the 14th - 15th centuries. There are no visible remains of the gallows. <2>
