Summary

Ditched bowl barrow in Gravel Hill Plantation. The barrow mound is recorded as 14m in diameter and 1.5m high and the ditch has been partly destroyed by gravel extraction.

Full Description

Bowl barrow. <2>

A. SZ 01989732. A tree covered bowl barrow, diameter 9.0m. height 0.2m. on the north, 0.4m. on the south side. There is a ditch 1.2m. wide and 0.1m. deep, but this is only surveyable around the north quadrant. Old gravel diggings extend to the south-east edge of the mound and have destroyed the ditch in that quandrant. <3>

'A'. SZ 01989732. Bowl barrow in dense woodland. Diameter 14.0 metres, height 1.5 metres. The ditch is not visible. 'A'. Resurveyed at 1:1250 on M.S.D. <5>
