Summary

Bowl barrow with slight traces of a ditch. It has been damaged by rabbits. The barrow is visible on 1940s aerial photographs and on current Lidar imagery and was digitally plotted from these by the Dorset Stour NMP project.

Full Description

(b) (SZ 02589624) Diameter 40ft. Height 4ft. Ditched, unopened, honeycombed by rabbits. <1>

B: A bracken covered bowl barrow with slight unsurveyable traces of a ditch except on the west and southwest where the ditch is 1.0m. Wide and 0.1m deep. The mound has a diameter of 12.0m., and is 1.3m. High. It has been much rabbited. <3>

'B'. SZ 02589624. Bowl barrow, diameter 12.0 metres, height 1.2 metres. Traces of a ditch but unsurveyable. 'B'. Resurveyed at 1:2500 on MSD. <6>

The barrow is visible on 1940's aerial photographs and on current Lidar imagery where it shows as a 12m in diameter mound with a 1.3m wide ditch <7 and 8>. It was digitally plotted from these sources by the Dorset Stour NMP project.
