Full Description

Bowl barrow, severely damaged, and slightly truncated by a track. Diameter 13.5m. by 10.0m., height 2.4m. No visible ditch. Visible as an earthwork on aerial photographs <1>. The site was digitally plotted during the South Dorset Ridgeway Mapping Project.

Two barrows on Bayard Hill, a locally prominent rise. 'A'. Bowl (SY 68 NE : 66418535). Diam. 60 ft., ht 8 ft. Top flattened and base damaged by ploughing. 'B' Bowl. (?) (SY 68 NE : 66488537) 85 yards east-north-east of 'A'. Oval, 51 ft. by 35 ft., Ht. 9 ft. Damaged. <2> <4>
