Monument record MDO6643 - Bowl barrow, one of the East Hill Group, Weymouth

Bronze Age barrow, visible as a low earthworks on aerial photographs. One of a group of barrows at East Hill. The site was digitally plotted during the South Dorset Ridgeway Mapping Project {1-2}.

'(R.14) EAST HILL GROUP (SY 78 SW). Fourteen, possibly sixteen, barrows in two compact clusters, the E. one containing a slightly irregular line of seven aligned on Bincombe (69) in R.12. Now mostly ploughed, but some still visible on skyline from Broadmayne bank barrow (19). Two barrows (LVG 31a and LVG Osmington 2), one possibly a disc, are untraceable. … (431) Ditched bowl (71348451) 90 yds. E.S.E. of (430). Diam. 50 ft., ht. 5½ ft. '
