Full Description

(Centred SY 662853) Field system. <2>

At 'A' (centred SY 66158535) are three badly shaped approximately parallel strip lynchets on the steep hillside.
At 'B' (centred SY 66358523) are two strong strip lynchets. All are under grass. <3>

SY 663853. Strip lynchets, of contour-type and fragmentary remains, extend over 15 acres east of Upway church and are arranged in three-end-on furlongs up to 160 yards long. <4>

These prominent strip lynchets, on a west-facing slope, are as described by RCHM. <4>. <5>

Earthwork remains of a medieval field system with strip lynchets. Visible as earthworks on aerial photographs <1> and digitally plotted during the South Dorset Ridgeway Project.
