Monument record MDO6571 - Mesolithic occupation site, Old Lower Lighthouse, Portland

Mesolithic occupation site was found in a field to east of the Old Lower Lighthouse. Excavated between 1965 and 1968 when over 600 picks being recovered. There is also evidence for a flint industry of the late Palaeolithic type which has become mixed with the Mesolithic.
