Full Description

The church of St John the Baptist at Fortuneswell has walls of Portland stone ashlar; the chancel roof is covered with tiles, the nave roof with slate. The church was built in 1839-1840 to the designs of Edward Mondey; the chancel and organ chamber were built later in the 19th century; the vestry is modern. (1)
