Summary

Barrow. A probable barrow at Knowlton is visible as a cropmark on 1950s aerial photographs. The barrow is probably Bronze Age in origin and forms part of the Knowlton Barrow Group. The feature was digitally plotted by the Dorset Stour NMP project.

'Barrow; diam. 80 ft'. (1)

A probable Bronze Age barrow at Knowlton is visible as a cropmark on a 2002 aerial photograph (2). The barrow is probably Bronze Age in origin and forms part of the Knowlton Barrow Group.

The barrow measures 25.8m in diameter and has a single 2m wide external ditch. There appears to be a faint hollow around 4m in diameter slightly off centre towards its west side.

The feature is also faintly visible on a 1954 aerial photograph (3). It was digitally plotted by the Dorset Stour NMP project.
