Summary

Barrow. A round barrow at Knowlton is visible as cropmarks on 2005 aerial photographs. The barrow is probably Bronze Age in origin and forms part of the Knowlton Barrow Group. The feature was digitally plotted by the Dorset Stour NMP project.

Full Description

'Barrows (50-65), lie N.E. of the circles. Four barrows and an enclosure in Wimborne St. Giles (39-43) form part of this sub-gorup. All have been levelled by ploughing and the dimensions given below are approximate.

A round barrow at Knowlton is visible as cropmarks on 2005 aerial photographs (2). The cropmark measures approximately 12.4m in diameter and probably represents a barrow of Bronze Age origin, forming part of the Knowlton Barrow Group.

The feature was digitally plotted by the Dorset Stour NMP project.
