Monument record MDO6446 - Round barrow, one of the Knowlton Barrow Group, Woodlands

'Barrows (39-49) lie N. of the South Circle and around the Centre Circle; some appear on Plate 80 (cf. plan p. 114). … (49) Barrow (02511042), levelled by ploughing; diam.about 90 ft.' (1)

The barrow is visible as a cropmark on 1990s aerial photographs (2 and 3). The features comprise an outer ditch between 1.85 and 4.85m wide and a central feature, possibly a ditch or hollow, around 16m by 13m wide and offset towards the northwest side, viisble on a 1970s aerial photograph (4).

The features were digitally plotted by the Dorset Stour NMP project.
