Full Description
'Barrows (29-38) lie S. and S. W. of the South Circle on both sides of the Cranborne-Wimborne road. One of them, when partly levelled, appears to have yielded skeletons ( see G. A. Cooke c1818 in sources).
The site of a large Bronze Age round barrow is visible as a cropmark ring ditch with internal mound on aerial photographs at the given grid reference (4-5). It lies to the south of the southern henge of Knowlton Circles and is one of the extensive Knowlton Circles Barrow Group. The ring ditch is 56m across and the inner mound 27.5m across. This barrow and numerous others within the Knowlton Barrow Group were digitally plotted during the Dorset Stour NMP.
