Full Description
Part of the Old Sarum to Badbury Rings Roman Road. The Roman road is visible as cropmarks and earthwork on aerial photographs and lidar imagery (2-3) and was digitially plotted during the Dorset Middle Stour Catchment AI&M Project.

'The road from Old Sarum to Badbury Rings enters the county just N.E. Of Woodyates…. Through Witchampton parish and into Pamphill the road is obscured by a later track, but the agger survives on the edge of the copse beside King Down Farm.'
