Full Description

WITCHAMPTON BRIDGE is a brick bridge built on the site of an earlier stone bridge. The earlier foundations of the wing walls and cutwaters are visible on the upstream side, and from measurements taken the spans of the arches differed slightly from those of the present ones, although the same foundations were used again. It has three unequal spans and the brickwork of the parapets has a very sharp roll over before splaying out.
The bridge has simple brick ornamentation and the roundels at each end are now almost hidden in the bushes. <1>
