Monument record MDO6387 - Field system, Wimborne St Giles

Traces of a later prehistoric or Roman field system visible as cropmarks and Medieval lynchets. In 1954 the lynchets were described as being clearly visible as earthworks in an arable field. The field system comprises part of a more extensive system of fields scattered over the downs.

(Centred SU 033168) 'Celtic' fields (part of a group extending over the chalklands in the north east of the county). <1>
