Summary

A linear earthwork at Nine Yews is integrated with an extensive prehistoric field system. It comprises of a ditch between two banks, now largely levelled by ploughing, and following a sinuous southwest-northeast path. The earthwork is associated with a field system and presumably served as a boundary between blocks of fields or was possibly part of a larger enclosure.

Full Description

The earthwork consists of a pronounced ditch between two low spread banks. At present under crops. <1>

A length of bank and ditch at SU 039138, now largely flattened by ploughing, is integrated with the adjoining 'Celtic' fields, and presumably served as a boundary between blocks of fields. <3>
