Full Description

The published note describes this find as follows: 'When Clatcombe House was built a coin of the house of Constantine was found in planting trees round the house. Recently the owner of the house dug up a Roman republican coin at the rear of the house (ROMA, 2nd. Cent. BC).' (1)

The republican coin is likely to be made of silver and the house of Constantine one is probably copper alloy. (2)
