Summary

A round barrow of a type known as a bowl barrow. One of a dispersed group of bowl barrows within and at the southern end of Salisbury Plantation. In 1975 this monument was reported as being about eighteen metres in diameter and almost a half metre high. The monument is in woodland. The site of the barrow is visible as earthworks on lidar imagery and was digitally plotted during the Dorset Stour NMP.

Full Description

A bowl barrow, one of a dispersed group of 9 bowl barrows within and at the southern end of Salisbury Plantation. It was described by RCHME as a mound 60 feet in diameter and 1.5 feet high. This barrow was originally described as part of SU 01 NW 57. <2-3>

A round barrow of a type known as a bowl barrow. In 1975 this monument was reported as being about eighteen metres in diameter and just over one metre high. The monument is in woodland. The site of the barrow is visible as earthworks on aerial photographs and lidar imagery <1, 4, 5> and was digitally plotted during the Dorset Stour NMP <5>. The barrow is 18-20m across with an outer ditch.
