Full Description

Foundations of a small building at SU 01221862, some 400 yards noth east of Oakley Farm, are composed of flint and stone and appear to represent two rooms with an ajoining paved yard. Associated pottery and glazed tile fragments are 13th century. <1-3>

Two sherds of Romano-British pottery and part of a Romano-British mortar were found on the site. Further field-walking at the site suggests it had a higher status than originally thought. Pottery forms, a jetton buckle-plate and coin, confirms a C12th-C13th date. <4>
