Full Description
'The Roman road from Badbury to Dorchester, to be described in Dorset V, crosses the N.W. part of the parish and survives as an earthwork in Little Almer Wood'. (1)
The Roman road from Badbury to Dorchester crosses the parish of Sturminster Marshall. Traces of it are visible as cropmarks on aerial photographs taken in 1947 and in places it is still visible as low earthworks on lidar imagery. They were ditigally recorded during the Dorset Middle Stour AIM. <2-3>
