Full Description
[ST 98981523] Sited to an accuracy of 30.0m the spot where I found a socketed bronze axe turned up by the plough about
1942-1944. It was presented to the late MR TURING BRUCE, Vicar of Handley. I am not sure whether it had any loops or not <1.1>.
The area is under grass and there were no surface finds. Much of the collection of MR TURING BRUCE went to DORCHESTER MUSEUM. He did not label his collection, and it was not possible to identify his items with any particular site - this I know from previous experience of Dorchester Museum. <1>
