'A single mole hill in the region of the eastern corner of the earthwork enclosure west of Badbury Rings hillfort produce five sherds of prehistoric and Roman pottery and a Roman coin (ST961029). The prehistoric sherd is of a black sandy ware with reddish-brown exterior decorated with a row of four circular impressions 2.5 mm wide and 2 mm apart. The Roman sherds comprise three small scraps of Black Burnished Ware (BB1) and one in New Forest ware, probably the bead rim of a beaker.
