Summary

A possible Bronze Age round barrow, seen as a ring-ditch on aerial photographs. In 1975 the RCHME recorded a diameter of approximately 35 feet for this monument. The record for this monument has been enhanced with support from Wessex Water.

Full Description

'Park Lane Group (59-61) comprises at least four barrows, all levelled by ploughing and now visible only as ring-ditches on an air photograph (N.M.R., ST 9401/1). They lie on a gentle S. slope at about 125 ft. above O.D., just S. of Park Lane … (61) Barrow? (95180166), 220 yds. W.N.W. of (60); diam. About 35 ft'.

A ring ditch is visible on aerial photograph NMR ST9401/1 and estimated as 10.5m dia. There is no visible trace of it on the ground. It lies on a south facing slope south of Park Lane. This is probably the site of a Bronze Age burial mound.
