Full Description
Listed as a bowl barrow, 25ft diameter and 1 foot high, at ST 96270328. <1> <3>
A low grass-covered mound, 0.7m high and 9.0m diameter with unsurveyable traces of a surrounding ditch is visible at ST 96290328. The mound has the appearance of a very small bowl barrow but whether of Roman or earlier date is uncertain. Shown on the plan accompanying 'Wessex from the Air' but not described. <2>
A Bronze Age round barrow, surviving as an earthwork is visible on aerial photographs and lidar imagery <5-6> and was digitially plotted during the Dorset Middle Stour AI&M. The mound is 7 metres across.

‘At least twenty-six barrows are known, but many have been flattened by ploughing and now appear only as soil-marks or crop-marks on air photographs. … (54) Bowl (96270328), 110 yds. N.E. of (53); diam. 25 ft., ht. 1 ft.’

A Bronze Age bowl barrow, visible as a low rise 7m dia. And 0.6m high. There are slight traces of the burial mound’s quarry ditch. One of a group of twelve round barrows.
