Monument record MDO5979 - Bowl barrow on Foxbury Hill, St Leonards and St Ives

One of a small group of four round barrows. A small mound is visible as earthworks on aerial photographs and was digitally plotted during the Dorset Stour NMP.

Three barrows are marked on the OS 1st edition map at the locations of MDO5979, MDO5980 and MDO5981. <1>

Three bowl barrows, that on West being largest. <3>

Three bowl barrows prominently situated on a southern spur. `A' - diameter 16.0m, height 1.5m. Flat topped, probably due to recent construction of O.S. Trig. Block. The group is heather-covered, in fair condition, with no visible ditches. <4>
