Summary

A circular soil mark about 50 feet in diameter visible on aerial photographs and interpreted as a ring ditch, the probable remains of a Bronze Age round barrow.

Full Description

A ring ditch visible as a cropmark on air photographs. Listed by RCHME as Pentridge 28 and by Grinsell as Pentridge 15, it is one of a line of a possible 5 plough-levelled round barrows east of the Dorset Cursus and just north of the village of Pentridge. RCHME described it as a ring ditch circa 50 feet in diameter. In 1975, WH Hoade suggested it measured 68 feet in diameter, with a ditch 3-4 feet wide. <6>
