Full Description
RCHME described the barrows as all having been largely flattened by ploughing, and varying between 25 and 50 feet in diameter. Grinsell measured it at 17 paces across.
Although the barrow has not been excavated, it is clear that it was ploughed out prior to 1954 and now has limited potential. Geophysical survey and sample excavation may determine the extent of survival and potential, but on present evidence it is not proposed to schedule this barrow. Ground photo with archive report. <3>
A rapid examination of air photography suggests that besides the barrows aligned as described (A-E), there are possibly two others (at ST 9670 1164 (F) and ST 9668 1177 (G), less certain than F) visible as soil marks, as are A-E. <4>
