Full Description

A bowl barrow located on the west side of the Crichel valley, circa 200 metres west of Veiny Cheese Pond. The mound is 27 metres in diameter and circa 0.3 metres high, having been reduced by ploughing. The scheduled monument description mentions a ditch surrounding the mound, though neither RCHME nor Grinsell refer to one.

Bowl Barrow (96261165), now almost levelled by ploughing; former diameter: 85 ft., height: 1 1/2 ft. (2) <2, 3, 4>

Note:
Originally the NRHE recorded three separate barrows under the Old NMR identifier ST 91 SE 54. These were subsequently recorded separately on the HBSMR database under 3 different Monument Numbers on the HBSMR database and the suffix of a, b and c was added to the Old NMR identifier to help identify them.
Subsequently the NRHE separated out these 3 barrows on their own database and allocated them their own unique Old NMR identifier numbers (although the original Old NMR identifier ST 91 SE 54 remained associated with one of the 3 barrows). Ultimately the NRHE allocated them their own UID numbers.

MDO5822 - ST 91 SE 54a ≡ Old NMR identifier: ST 91 SE 54 – UID: 210096.
MDO5823 - ST 91 SE 54b ≡ Old NMR identifier: Originally part of ST 91 SE 54, then ST 91 SE 177 – UID: 1303051.
MDO5824 - ST 91 SE 54c ≡ Old NMR identifier: Originally part of ST 91 SE 54, then ST 91 SE 178 – UID: 1303059.

NRHE website said “NB this barrow was formerly described as part of ST 91 SE 54. That record should be consulted for additional sources and information.” SWX1666 is the only additional source ST 91 SE 54 refers to. Susan Joyce Jackson is the only additional compiler ST 91 SE 54 refers to.
