Full Description

(Area centred SZ 047995). Early Bronze Age beaker found 1935. Given by T. Dayrell Reed to Pitt-Rivers Museum, Farnham. <1>

Mr Hoare remembers pottery being found about 1935 at this gravel pit which was being worked by his father at the time, but could offer no further information.

The gravel pit, now disused, is occupied as a depot by the Avon and Dorset Water Board. No further finds were made during perambulation. <2>
