Find Spot record MDO5443 - Tranchet pick and transverse arrowhead, Colehill

Flint tranchet pick and transverse arrowhead, found by W. WREN. [SU 02560059]. <1>

B. The tranchet and two flint blades have been found in this area. The tranchet was found at the time of construction of the glasshouses c. 1947 and the blades have been found subsequently. One of the blades is in Mr Wren's possession & the remainder loaned to Mr Chancellor. <2>

Mr Wren pointed out on the ground the approximate positions where he made these finds. As three of the finds were made inside glasshouses, it seems possible, although by no means definite, that the soil was imported into the area. Mr Wren was unable to confirm this suggestion. <3>
