Full Description

(Centred ST 395012) A deer-park at Attisham was in existence by AD 1290, when 'perturbers of the King's peace broke the park of Edmund Everard at Adesham by force of arms and hunted the deer.' It was briefly recorded in 1343, but was not mentioned in the 1583 Certificate as to Parks in Dorset.

The exact site is not known, but a field on the north side of the road immediately east of Birdsmoor Gate, is named 'Park' in the Tithe Apportionment and it is suggested that the park was bounded on the south by the B3164 road, on the west by the B3165, on the east by Attisham Lane, and to the north by the medieval track south of Pilsdon Pen.

No earthworks have been identified. <1>
