Summary

A bowl barrow on top of a broad spur south east of Ochill Wood. In 1970 this monument was reported as being about 40 feet in diameter with a mound about 4½ feet high. A hole has been dug into the top of the mound, probably in the course of antiquarian investigation.

Full Description

A large bowl barrow. <2>

A tree and bracken covered bowl barrow with no visible ditch. The mound is 12.0 metres in diameter and 1.0 meter in high, flattened on the top. <3>

ST 79800505. Bowl barrow, south of Ochill Wood and about 40 feet in diameter and 4½ feet high. The mound, which lies in an area of 'Celtic' fields (see ST 80 SW 1), has a hole dug in the centre and is thickly overgrown. <4>

‘(21) Bowl (79800505), S. of Ochill Wood at over 775 ft. O.D., on the top of a broad spur falling gently eastward towards the village, lies in an area of 'Celtic' fields (Group (53)). The mound has a hole dug into its centre and is thickly overgrown. Diam. about 40 ft., ht. 4½ ft.’
