Summary

Bronze Age bowl (or possibly bell) barrow. In 1972 the RCHME reported that this monument was approximately 70 feet in diameter, with a mound standing some 5 feet high. The site has been damaged by ploughing, and by a World War II gun emplacement placed on top of it. The site was visible as earthworks on aerial photographs and lidar imagery and was digitally plotted during the Dorset Middle Stour Catchment AI&M Project. The record for this monument has been enhanced with support from Wessex Water.

Full Description

The site of a Bronze Age round barrow is visible as an extant mound 16m across on aerial photographs <4> and on lidar imagery <5>. It was digitally plotted during the Dorset Middle Stour Catchment AI&M Project.
