Summary

Bowl barrow, former diameter 60 ft, height 2 ft. The record for this monument has been enhanced with support from Wessex Water. The barrow is visible as a banked and ditched sub-circular cropmark on an aerial photograph dated 1995 and as an earthwork on current lidar imagery. It was digitally plotted during the Dorset Middle Stour Aim Project.

Full Description

ST 94900717. Bowl barrow, formerly 60 ft in diameter and 2 ft high, but now much reduced by ploughing. <2>

The barrow is visible as a banked and ditched sub-circular cropmark approximately 20.5m in diameter in total on an aerial photograph dated 1995 and as an earthwork on current lidar imagery <3-4>. A possible ditch, 1.5m wide, is visible as a cropmark, entire except on its southwest side [3]. The feature was digitally plotted during the Dorset Middle Stour Aim Project.
