Full Description
Historic pond in the NW corner of a field to the north of Flamberts Farm, Hilfield, shown on the OS Epoch 1 6" to the mile map published in 1888, visible as a small shallow earthwork on satellite and lidar imagery. A linear hollow way leads from the NW corner of the field towards a second pond further down the field. Two mounds flank this hollow way, recorded as possible spoil heaps, perhaps Bronze Age barrows (MDO1237) but confidence in this is low. They might be spoil heaps relating to the ponds and hollow way but this is uncertain (EA 2022; OS 1888; GE 2025).
