Full Description
A narrow linear field to the northwest of Lower Hilfield Farm, Hilfield, is shown on the OS Epoch 1 6" to the mile map published in 1888. The feature is visible as a deep linear hedge lined feature on aerial photographs of 1947, with a similar form to neighbouring drove roads of potentially medieval origin. The feature survives as a narrow field plot on current lidar and satellite imagery but could have early, possibly medieval, origins (EA 2022; OS 1888; RAF 1947; GE 2025).
