Monument record MDO51224 - Pount's Barn and pond, Crockers Knap, Leigh

A historic barn, named Pount's Barn, within a small squarish enclosure with adjacent pond is shown on the OS Epoch 1 6" to the mile map. A historic track leading to Pount's Barn is also shown on the OS historic maps, visible as a field track hedged on both sides on aerial photographs of 1947 and 1972 and satellite imagery and as an earthwork on current lidar imagery. The track might be linked to a nearby network of drove ways of potentially medieval origin. The site of the barn is partially under trees on current Google Earth imagery, it is not certain if any structural remains of the barn survive. The pond is visible as an earthwork on lidar imagery.
