Full Description
Part of a medieval strip field system to the west of Whitfield Farm is visible as earthworks on lidar imagery. The earthworks infill between still extant field boundaries that are also probably medieval in origin. Several additional boundaries are shown on the OS Epoch 1 6" to the mile map, indicating narrow linear field plots. Areas of ridge and furrow are also visible in some parts (EA 2022; OS 1887).
