Summary

A Bronze Age bowl barrow on Blandford Race Down. The barrow mound measures 17 metres in diameter and 2 metres high and is surrounded by a ditch, too ill-defined for measurement. A hollow in the top of the mound may indicate past excavation. The record for this monument has been enhanced with support from Wessex Water. The feature is visible as an earthwork on 1940s aerial photographs and on current Environment Agency lidar imagery and was digitally plotted during the Dorset Middle Stour AIM project.

ST 91360836. Bowl barrow, 50 ft in diameter and 6 ft high, with surrounding ditch too ill-defined for measurement. <1>

ST 91360836. A bowl barrow on Blandford Race Down. The barrow mound measures 17 metres in diameter and 2 metres high and is surrounded by a ditch which can still be seen on the north and north eastern sides. A hollow in the top of the mound may indicate past excavation. Scheduling amended. <3>

The feature is visible as an earthwork on 1940s aerial photographs and on current Environment Agency lidar imagery and was digitally plotted during the Dorset Middle Stour AIM project. <5> <6>
