Full Description
Areas of medieval ridge and furrow cultivation in fields to the south of Poyntington are visible as earthworks on aerial photographs and lidar and satellite imagery. Towards their northwest edges, the features might be overlain by later orchard cultivation ridges - areas of orchard are recorded on the OS Epoch 1 6 inches to the mile map published in 1886 (OS 1886; RAF 1947; EA 2022; GE 2014).
