Full Description
The OS Epoch 1 25 inch to the mile map published in 1887 shows an area of orchard to the northwest of Holway, Sandford Orcas. Linear banked earthworks visible on Google Earth and lidar imagery might be cultivation ridges associated with this. The earthworks form part of a wider area of banked linear features that are probably part of a medieval field system (MDO50935), the northern part of which might underlie the orchard earthworks (EA 2022; GE 2009; OS 1887).
