Summary

Rectilinear field boundaries belonging to a field system of potentially medieval origin are visible to the west of Trent on 2022 composite DTM lidar imagery. The features are truncated by the railway line and are not shown on the OS Epoch 1 25 inch map published in 1887, indicating they were removed prior to this date. The curvilinear aspect of some fo the boundaries suggest a possible medival origin.

Full Description

Rectilinear field boundaries belonging to a field system of potentially medieval origin are visible to the west of Trent on 2022 composite DTM lidar imagery (EA 2022). The features are truncated by the railway line and are not shown on the OS Epoch 1 25 inch map published in 1887, indicating they were removed prior to this date. The curvilinear aspect of some fo the boundaries suggest a possible medival origin (OS 1887).
