Full Description
Curvilinear banked features to the west of Kitford, Fifehead Neville, are visible as earthworks on Environment Agency lidar imagery (EA 2018). The features are located within a particularly curvilinear historic field shown on the OS Epoch 1 25 inch map, part of which is followed by the parish boundary and which could potentially fossilise a medieval or earlier enclosure (OS c1880). The features are of uncertain origin but could possibly be of medieval or earlier date, perhaps enclosure or field boundaries, or settlement related. They were digitally recorded during the Mid Dorset Downs AIM project.
