Summary

A post medieval water channel or drainage ditch to the east of Fox Alder's Copse is visible as a ditched earthwork on 1940s aerial photographs and current Environment Agency lidar imagery. The feature runs northwest to southeast between an issues and a spring shown on the OS Epoch a5 map of c1962 and overlies banks associated with a medieval strip field system (MDO4764). It was digitally recorded during the Mid Dorset Downs AIM project.

A post medieval water channel or drainage ditch to the east of Fox Alder's Copse is visible as a ditched earthwork on 1940s aerial photographs and current Environment Agency lidar imagery (RAF 1945; EA 2018). The feature runs northwest to southeast between an issues and a spring shown on the OS Epoch a5 map of 1962 (OS 1962) and overlies banks associated with a medieval strip field system (MDO4764). It was digitally recorded during the Mid Dorset Downs AIM project.
